What Is Our Place?

Our Place is a Big Lottery programme targeting 7 specific areas in Scotland. Auchmuty is one of them. The programme aims to put local people in control. People who live in a place are the best people to come up with a vision for their own community and what they want to see happen there. The aim of Our Place is to build stronger connections and relationships in Auchmuty, empowering local people and organisations to lead on projects that will make a big difference to the neighbourhood.

As well as possible funding, there is also lots of help on the ground to develop the skills and confidence of local people and organisations in Auchmuty. The programme was launched in the Autumn of 2014 and will last 5 years. The contract in Auchmuty is being delivered by Community Enterprise Ltd and BRAG. The focus of the support is about getting local residents to work together to create a vision for the area (‘What kind of neighbourhood do we want this to be?’) and then work towards developing projects to help make that vision a reality. The Big Lottery has set up funds to help these projects happen.
